2020 Event Sponsors

Snowshoe Kawartha is proud to thank our supporters, sponsors and volunteers who have helped make our event successful!

Snowshoe Kawartha has received support from Mayor Andy Letham and the City of Kawartha Lakes, CKL Councillor Doug Elmslie, Mr. James R. Webster and Kawartha Works Community Co-op for which we find ourselves truly appreciative.

Our success is entirely thanks to our incredible volunteers and amazing sponsors. We are very pleased to thank our GOLD Sponsors Home Hardware, the Lions Club, Log Chateau, Rotary Club, Sobeys and Young’s Construction. And our SILVER Sponsors The Cow and Sow, Fenelon Falls Real Estate, The Kawartha Store and K-VARS Electric.

We wish to thank all of our corporate partners from past years and those supporting this year’s event.

Snowshoe Kawartha Course Approved for 2020

We are very pleased to be able to host the race on the same forest property as last year. The 2020 version will avoid two-way lanes in the forest and icy slopes. New sectors ensure safety, fun and a maybe a new course record.

The small adjustments will help athletes improve performance and set new standards of achievement.

Fenelon Falls features hills, ravines and beautiful lakeside scenery. The race is rated as the most popular for a great course, organization and food. As Race Directors our hope is that we have lots of snow and as Event Organizers that all participants enjoy the event and take the time to thank the volunteers and sponsors when they visit the village shops.

Special Olympics in the Kawarthas!

February is Snowshoe Month in the Kawartha’s

Snowshoeing just might be one of Canada’s oldest winter activities but it is coming to Fenelon Falls as a new event for Special Olympics in February.

Wayne Jolly has created the inaugural Special Olympics event planned for Sunday February 5th 2017 in Fenelon Falls Ontario. The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to experience the Kawartha Lakes region. This will help create enhanced tourism benefits and will hopefully pave the way for a winter festival in the future. Proceeds from the event will go to support Special Olympics’ Ontario Region Programs.

The Fenelon Special Olympics event will be a grass roots race designed for all levels of participants from beginner to expert. The entire event will be “virtual”, participants can plan to start and finish anytime between February 5th and February 20th. During this period the course markers will assist everyone to stay on track.

On February 5th, participants will meet at the Louisa Start Finish Area. The distances will be 500, 1600, 5k and 10k.  We have capped participation in waves of 5 athletes, on the trails at 30 minute intervals.

Join us for a fun event with special discounts for Families and Community Groups.
